Cerebrolysin is not a single peptide. It is a complex of low-molecular-weight neurotrophic peptides and free amino acids produced by enzymatic breakdown of porcine brain tissue. That distinction matters: unlike a defined heptapeptide such as Selank, or a synthetic fragment such as Semax, Cerebrolysin is a biological mixture, so batch-to-batch characterisation is far harder and the usual "molecular structure" question does not apply in the same way.
It has genuine clinical use in several countries outside the UK, where it is studied and licensed for neurotrophic support after stroke, traumatic brain injury and in cognitive decline.
